HYUNDAI HEAVY INDUSTRIAL

Hyundai heavy industries started its shipbuilding industry in 1972 and developed into one of the greatest shipbuilding companies in the world. With its growing technology, Hyundai heavy industries contributes in national economic growth and has become as one of world’s greatest complex corporations by advancing in numerous industries such as marine, plant, machine, electrical machinery and appliance, and construction equipment business.

DAEWANGAM ROCK

The park is also home to Daewangam island, a large rock island that looks like a dragon rising up into the sky. It is connected to the mainland with an iron bridge and has an observation tower.

TAEHWA RIVER BAMBOO TRAIL

Taehwa river Simnidaebat is an extensive bamboo field covering the areas between Taehwa bridge and Samho bridge along the Taehwa river. The bamboo field, which is about 4km long and 20-40 kilometers wide, was created by the villagers in hopes of preventing the frequent flooding that occurred during the Japanese colonial period. Today it is a rich bamboo forest.

SEOKGURAM GROTTO

Seokguram, located on Mt.Toham, is the representative stone temple of Korea. The official name of Seokguram, National treasure No. 24, is Seokguram Seokgul. Designated as world cultural heritage site by UNESCO in 1995, it is an artificial stone temple made of granite. The construction started with Kim Dae-Seong (700~774) in 751 during the reign of king Gyeong-Deok (742~765) of the Silla dynasty (57 B.C.~A.D. 935)

CHEONMACHONG TOMB

Cheonmachong (No.155) is the only one open to the public. In 1973, Cheonmachong was discovered with burial accessories. Of those accessories, there was a saddle flap that a flying horse was painted on the bark of white birch, from which this tomb was named ‘Cheonmachong(Tomb of a flying horse)’

PALGONG MT. CABLE CAR RIDING

Standing almost 1.2km and bordering five different cities and districts of Gyeongsangbuk-do province, Palgong mountain is one of the major mountains in the southern region. Palgong mountain cable car runs a distance of 1.2km from the base of Palgong mountain to an elevation of 800m.
