Committed to the future of health in Asia
Founded in 1999 by Dr. Jae-Hoon Song, APFID boasts a distinguished presence in Korea. It is unique in its multidisciplinary approach to addressing and preventing antimicrobial resistance and infectious disease threats throughout the Asia Pacific region. By gathering experts at the ‘International Symposium on Antimicrobial Agents and Resistance (ISAAR)’, driving awareness through the ‘STOP! Superbug (SuperU)’ campaign, providing resources from the ‘Asian Bacterial Bank (ABB)’ for antimicrobial resistance research, conducting valuable research through the Infectious Disease Research Institute (IDRI)’ and international surveillance management through the ‘Asian Network for Surveillance of Resistant Pathogens (ANSORP)’, APFID aims to save lives by tackling this serious public health threat.

Contribute to the pivotal exchange of state-of-the-art information and data
ISAAR is a very special global-scale meeting with strong emphasis on antimicrobial resistance, antimicrobial treatment, new antimicrobial agents and vaccines, and our future strategies against infectious diseases threats. Now, the ISAAR became the most representative international meeting on antimicrobial resistance and infectious diseases in the Asian-Pacific region. ISAAR aims to contribute to the pivotal exchange of state-of-the-art information and data on infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance in the world. Epidemiology, mechanism of resistance, pathogenesis, clinical impact, development of new antimicrobial agents and vaccines, and guidelines of treatment and prevention are the major issues of ISAAR. This cutting-edge information can foster global solutions to the problem of infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance. ISAAR is truly a world's premier convention on antimicrobial agents, resistance and important infectious diseases issues.
